Tian'anmen Square
Tian'anmen Gate is the
main entrance to the Forbidden City. It was first built in 1417 (Ming Dynasty) and respectfully called "the Country's Gate". Tian'anmen was the place for holding grand ceremonies. When an emperor went for expedition, he had to offer sacrifices to God of Road at the Gate. Hua Biao was the symbol of the supreme power of the emperor.
