Nanjing 2004

Welcome home! The winter during Christmas time was cold, snow covering the ground. But my heart could feel the warm being at hometown. I re-visited the two historic sites: Dr. Sun Yai-Sen's Mausoleum and the old Presidential Palace.   The mausoleum was built in commemoration of Dr. Sun Yai-Sen, the pioneer of China's democratic revolution near a century ago. Situated at the southern slope of Zhongsan Mountain, the mausoleum has total 392 stairs, covering a length of 700 meters and a height of 70 meters, truly a landmark of Nanjing. The Presidential Palace was used for the government of Republic of China before 1949.
